Hello World! I’m Damien (yes, named after 1976 horror movie 'The Omen') , born in 1994, and I’ve been glued to a computer screen for as long as I can remember. What started as a childhood curiosity, tinkering with old PCs and breaking more things than I fixed, eventually led me to study application development. But life had other plans, and after diving into the world of cybersecurity, I quickly realized that’s where my real passion lies.

Since 2021, I’ve been working as a Security Engineer, specializing in Microsoft’s cybersecurity offerings. I’m particularly into Microsoft Sentinel and Defender, where I get to play with all things KQL (Kusto Query Language). That’s what this blog is all about—sharing the cool queries I build and the tips and tricks I’ve picked up along the way. Whether you’re just getting started with Microsoft’s security tools or you’re a seasoned pro, I hope you find something here that makes your life easier (or at least more interesting!).

But, I’m not all code and security! When I’m not buried in work, I’m usually trying to tackle my next bouldering route, squeezing in a run (and spending my salary on races), or indulging in some well-deserved video game time. You might also catch me at a concert, headbanging and moshing to some rock, punk, or metal.

This blog isn’t just a one-way street. I’m constantly learning too, and I’m sure I’ll make mistakes along the way. So if you spot something that’s off, or if you have any suggestions, please don’t hesitate to let me know! I’m all about growth, and feedback is always welcome.

Thanks for stopping by—I hope to meet fellow Microsoft enthousiasts that'll help me grow!
